ATEX Pumps

ATEX-certified pumps for explosive atmospheres

For the supply or transfer of petrol, or in environments where there is a risk of potentially explosive atmospheres, operational safety is essential. Gespasa meets this need with its range of pumps certified in accordance with the ATEX Directive, delivering the highest level of protection without compromising performance or reliability.

The IRON 50 Ex model, available in 230 V as well as 12 V or 24 V DC versions, retains the well-known features of the IRON 50 family — efficient self-priming, self-adjusting vanes and a flow rate of around 50 l/min — but has been specifically adapted with flameproof housings to ensure fully safe operation in explosive atmospheres. This adaptation enhances the robustness of the original design, while maintaining its effectiveness for demanding applications.

On the other hand, the AG 800 is a powerful pump that also meets the most stringent ATEX standards. Its design incorporates an advanced technical package: self-priming, self-adjusting vanes, a recirculation by-pass system, and an impressive performance of up to 80 l/min. The unit is designed to run continuously, with a suction capacity of up to 2.7 m, so it does not need priming.

These pumps not only ensure operational continuity in extreme conditions, but also extend the service life of components, thanks to their specific flameproof construction and a design engineered to withstand harsh environments. The Gespasa ATEX series represents a perfect balance of safety, hydraulic power and durability, making them an optimal choice for areas where technical demands and stringent safety regulations come together.

ATEX Pump IRON 50 Ex

The IRON 50 Ex is the flameproof evolution of the IRON 50 model, a widely recognised pump in the sector for its reliability, efficiency and compact design. This version has been specially developed for installation in classified zones with an explosion risk, fully complying with the requirements of the ATEX Directive, which guarantees safe operation in flammable or potentially explosive atmospheres, such as those found in the petrochemical industry, hydrocarbon distribution plants or logistics environments handling fuels.

Ideal for supplying petrol to vehicles or machinery.

The heart of the IRON 50 Ex remains its self-adjusting vane system, based on the principle of positive displacement. This technology enables a stable, continuous flow of up to 50 litres per minute, even when there are pressure variations in the line or under demanding operating conditions. In addition, its self-priming capability makes start-up easy without the need for manual priming, making it a practical option both for new installations and for upgrades in industrial environments.

Unlike the standard version, the IRON 50 Ex is manufactured with special materials and electrical components protected against deflagration, designed to prevent the generation of sparks or thermal build-up that could pose a risk in classified zones such as Zone 1 or Zone 2, according to the ATEX classification system. This level of protection makes the pump suitable for a wide range of flammable liquids, including diesel and petrol.

It can be connected via threaded fittings or flanges, which facilitates maintenance, parts replacement and compatibility with accessories such as filters, meters and Gespasa controllers.

The IRON 50 Ex has become a benchmark for professionals who need to combine certified safety with high hydraulic performance. Its adaptability, its regulatory compliance and its reliable operation position it as a strategic solution for applications where operational safety is paramount, without sacrificing transfer efficiency or ease of use.

ATEX Pump AG 800

The AG 800 is an electric vane pump specially designed to operate in explosion-risk atmospheres, meeting the stringent requirements of the ATEX Directive for classified zones. Its robust architecture, combined with a high flow capacity and proven mechanical reliability, makes it an ideal solution for petrol supply or critical industrial applications where safety is non-negotiable.

Designed for supplying petrol to vehicles or machinery. It can also operate in complex environments such as refineries, fuel distribution facilities, chemical plants, aviation depots or centralised supply systems. The AG 800 combines efficient transfer technology with advanced protection against ignition. Both its motor and its metal housing are designed to contain and isolate any potential spark source or excess heat, thus ensuring safe operation even in the presence of flammable vapours or volatile liquids.

Hydraulically, the pump is based on a positive displacement system using self-adjusting vanes, ensuring a constant flow, without pulsation and highly efficient. Thanks to this technology, the AG 800 can maintain a continuous flow rate of up to 80 litres per minute, with self-priming capability and excellent performance under pressure variations. This sustained performance enables intensive use in continuous operations, without compromising system stability or operator safety.

The pump body is built from materials resistant to corrosion and mechanical wear, extending its service life and reducing the need for frequent maintenance. In addition, its integration into industrial installations is straightforward, thanks to its 1” threaded connection or flanges, making it easy to connect to flow meters and other accessories.

The AG 800 is a comprehensive solution for safe transfer of fuels and other flammable liquids in ATEX zones. It offers the peace of mind of a certified unit, the performance of a professional pump and the quality assurance that characterises all Gespasa products.
